Little did I know then how helpful this product would be later that summer. It was only after one of my horses was bitten in the ear by a poisonous snake did I discover the wonderful properties of Natural Groom. Up until that time I had used it as a coat conditioner.
After applying several applications to the bitten area of the ear, the mare no longer continued to rub against the wounded area. The gentle clear film which remained from this product allowed the skin on the ear to heal naturally without interference from other irritants. It was this property that made me decide to use it daily to best control the condition caused by the snake bite.
After about a week of daily use on the swollen area, I found that the ear was almost totally healed. Natural Groom was soothing to my horse, and because it was an odor free product, it didn't attract insects to the wounded area while it was healing.
